| Integrating POS+ with A++3 | |||
Selecting the “Integrate with POS+ “ option in General/Preferences/Utilities will enable you to bring into your A++3 data file all the transactions entered into the daily transaction file created by POS+ Using the POS+ Integration option in Utilities is a simple process but needs care to ensure the integration goes smoothly. Setting up Integration Transactions entered by the POS+ program are stored in “Real Time” (as they are saved) in a separate transaction file in the POS+ folder, (normally called POS_{Terminal ID number}_Data_ {Date}.APT) In addition, each transaction entered in POS+ is stored in “Real Time” in a Back up transaction file (normally called POS_{Terminal ID number}_Data_{Date}_copy.APT) in the A++3 folder (as suggested). The location for the backup transaction file can be checked or changed in the “Backup Data” option. |

Customers and Product codes Customer and product codes in POS+ MUST be the same as in A++3.A message will be displayed when you try to integrate advising if customer and/or product codes are missing from A++3. You will not be able to integrate transactions from POS+ into A++3 until the missing codes are entered. Note: As the Update and the Import can make changes to A++3 data, we would recommend that you make a backup of your A++3 data before proceeding as security against a system failure. To do so, select the “Backup” button at the bottom of the POS+ Integration window. |
Importing codes from POS+ to A++3 Selecting the “Create Export File” button in the Backup Data option in POS+ will automatically create an Import file called “POS+ - A++”, which will be saved in the previously selected location (we recommend the A++3 folder). Selecting the “Import” button in the POS+ Integration option in A++3 will allow you to quickly import the new codes. |
Importing codes from A++3 to POS+ Note: You should ensure that your cashiers have a procedure for dealing with products that have not yet been created in POS+ Selecting the “Export” button in the “POS+ Integration” option in Utilities in A++3 will automatically create an Import file called “A++-POS+”, in the previously selected location (we recommend the A++3 folder). Using the Import button (with A++ Items selected) in the Import option in POS+ you will be able to select the Import file “A++ - POS+”. The message “Import Complete” will be displayed. |

Importing Transactions from POS+ For management purposes, particularly flexible reporting, you may decide to use the POS Terminal number as a Department in A++3. You will need to ensure the appropriate department codes are set up before integrating. A message will confirm the Update has been completed. If you move the Daily transaction copy file from the location identified in the option “Backup Data” in POS+, a message will be displayed: Selecting “Yes” will allow you to search for the new location of the file. If you are unable to locate the copy file, you can use the Backup Data option in POS+ to create a new Daily transaction copy file (preferably in the A++3folder). This option would only be suitable if you were integrating on the same day. If you are integrating transaction files from a previous day, you will need to go to the POS+ folder and copy the Daily transaction file to the A++3 folder. Using the “Update” option in A++3 you will be able to look for and select that transaction file. Note: As the Update and the Import can make changes to the A++3 data, we would recommend that you make a backup of your A++3 data before proceeding as security against a system failure. To do so, select the “Backup” button at the bottom of the POS+. Integration window Daily transaction files are not automatically deleted once the details have been updated into A++3. You will be able to automatically delete these files if they are no longer required as backups. Make sure the “delete before” date and POS Terminal number are entered correctly. |
